The Northern Nesting Space aims to support people throughout the process of growing their family. Throughout the process of trying to get (and stay) pregnant, being pregnant, and experiencing birth, matrescence, postpartum, and parenting, a lot of complex feelings can show up. The radical shift in identity, how we relate to the world around us, the physical changes our bodies go through, and the responsibility of walking alongside a tiny human in this world are a big deal, and you don’t need to be alone while you navigate it.
This is a space where you can show up authentically. You are the author of your stories, and your embodied experience holds inherent wisdom. The Northern Nesting Space is committed to providing psychotherapy that is trauma‑informed, anti‑oppressive, culturally responsive, and consent‑based. This means:
- You are the expert in your own lived/living experience.
- Therapy proceeds at a pace that prioritizes your safety, dignity, and choice.
- We actively work to recognize and reduce the impacts of systemic oppression.
- You have the right to ask questions, set boundaries, and revisit consent at any point in therapy.
The Northern Nesting Space offers individual and group psychotherapy, forest therapy, ornitherapy, and workshops, and we are working to build a directory of other professionals who can support you on this journey. Becoming a parent (each time!) can be overwhelming and even isolating. It can also be inspiring and deeply healing. Our hope is that, alongside therapy, you feel supported in every way.
